The importance of travelling (Pupil’s Writing)
Unit one / Holidaying & Art Shows
More than anything else, travelling is so important for us because of its advantages. First of all, travelling is a great spring (=source) of pleasure, relaxation, rest, and forgetting a whole year of stress. Beside all that, while we’re travelling, we’re nourishing our knowledge and our culture because journeys make us capable to learn more about one country’s traditions, culture, and habits, Margaret Mead said “As the traveler who has once been from home is wiser than he who has never left his own doorstep, so a knowledge of one other culture should sharpen our ability to scrutinize more steadily, to appreciate lovingly, our own.”In the second place, travelling allows us to enjoy the amazing sense of adventure also to explore, to dream, to discover like what Mark Twain said “Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”In addition, travelling allows us to clear our minds and change our ideas about one’s nation or anything else; Mark Twain also said, “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.”In the end, travelling is the unique way to relax, enjoy, and learn at the same time.

My last holidays (Pupil’s Writing) (Sent by Sara Vera, a student from Madrid, Spain)
Unit one / Holidaying & Art Shows
My last holidays were my longest holidays, and I think that I learnt how to spend the time. I enjoyed a lot with my friends, and my family, and I met new people too, because I was in different places during the summer, and I wanted to meet people everywhere.
The first place I visited was Calpe, a town in Alicante, because I was invited for some days by a friend who has a house there. I went with some friends, and we spent there just five days, but it was enough time to want to come back next summer! We stayed on the beach for hours, in the mornings, just lying and asleep, taking enough energy for the rest of the day and for the night! At night, we went out until next morning. We danced, met people, walked near the beach... while we watched the moon in silence.
Next, I went to Paris with my parents and my sister. Actually, I did not go to Paris, I went to Disneyland. We stayed there for four days, and it was really unforgettable. When I saw the park, I opened my eyes the most I could and I did not close them until the night at the hotel. I felt like a little girl again.
Finally, I was in Salou. My parents looked for a really relaxing time, and we were on the beach for some days. There, we did not visit anything, we were there just to rest. After those days, we came back to Madrid, and, unfortunately, we had to start our routines again.
Holidaying - A Letter of recommendation
Unit one / Holidaying & Art Shows
Dear Tom;
I heard you were planning to go on holiday but still hesitating about your destination. I’ve just come back from the best 7-day vacation I’ve ever spent in my whole life (at hotel / in place). It was really awesome!!!
First of all, as soon as we arrived we had an amazing feeling of being so welcomed by our hosts. Everything was perfect. The room had a great big window view to the sea. The food was luscious and varied. Their cuisine is the place where you can taste all the goodness that nature has to offer.
Besides, the personnel were great, and everyone was so helpful and friendly! They make you feel so at home and nothing is too much trouble for them. We were offered the best quality of services either inside the room, at the restaurant or even by the poolside.
Most fascinating of all was the awesome entertainment. Staying there gave us the opportunity to explore and become familiar with the natives and feel so welcomed! We mainly enjoyed the cruise to the nearby islands where the scenery was magnificent! We took great pictures and we were so excited that we want to go back next year and take both our children and a few other family members.
(Name of place) is definitely a paradise and it makes everything so accommodating!! I would earnestly recommend this (hotel/ agency/ place) if you are eager to spend a memorable holiday.
Yours Sincerely,
Jerry.
Holidaying - A Letter of Complaint
Unit one / Holidaying & Art Shows
Dear Sir/ Madam;
I’ve just come back from the most horrible 7-day vacation I’ve ever spent in my whole life at your miserable hotel. I was extremely dissatisfied at all levels.
To start with, the room was not at all as we had previously been promised as it was a complete mess. It was not only dirty and untidy but also lacked any natural view. Worse, we couldn’t even enjoy sleeping for the whole stay due to the unbearable noise coming from the main street.
Add to this, though we had been assured that food would be varied and luscious, it was honestly inedible. Once, we were served such a disgusting dinner that my son got terribly sick and I had to take him to the doctor, costing me dearly.
Last but not least, the advertised schedule of our vacation in your brochure was a big lie. On the one side, we were offered a very old coach that broke down more than once making us wait for repairing in the blistering heat of summer and you may imagine what happened to our skin. On the other side, the guide was a real jerk who did nothing for us but asking for tips.
I hope you agree that our vacation did not reach our expectations at all. I, hereby, look forward to receiving a convenient compensation; otherwise I’ll feel free to take the case to the court.
With Regards,
Tom Jerry

Blemishes of Space Tourism:
Unit one / Holidaying & Art Shows
One of the most important cons of space tourism is the money spent in the research. The money that is spent on space tourism can rather be spent to reduce poverty in the underdeveloped countries. Space tourism involves both astronomy and space technology. It requires a huge amount of money to be spent on the journey to space. Some believe that the money can be diverted towards the poor. When many cannot even meet their basic needs of life, is it right to spend on space tourism? Apart from the expenditure of money, a travel to space also risks the human life. Manned missions to space impose a huge amount of risk on the astronauts who travel to space. They have to face harsh conditions and challenge themselves to adapt to unfriendly environment. What seems to take us by surprise may land us in trouble. We may find something in space that is lethal to life on Earth. We may discover something that is extremely harmful for the living beings on Earth. Space tourism may invite some dangerous microorganisms that may exist in space. The extraterrestrial beings may actually prove dangerous for human life. Space tourism can mean a major leap for mankind but it is also criticized as not having achieved any major scientific breakthroughs. Public interest can serve as the determinant factor in judging the suitability of space tourism. It may not be wise to splurge on space tourism if other basic needs are being ignored or left unfulfilled.

Space Tourism is a thrilling experience that is worth the fortune paid on it
Space tourism is a very new idea that was once thought of as no more than science fiction, just like visiting the moon once was.
Although most people are totally against space tourism, I strongly believe that this phenomenon is an idea whose time has come. It's going to start soon and rapidly opening up space to a wide range of activities. Despite its drawbacks, space tourism does have many benefits. First, It is a clever way to fund space exploration. The money earned by space tourism can be used to advance research in space exploration. Thus, if we're in favour of progress we should never curb any experiments. Second, it offers a special adventure that is worth undertaking. There is much fun and entertainment in crossing space. Third, Space flight participants have the right to use their money the way they see it suitable. Consequently, we should not blame them. It's their right to experience this extraordinary adventure and to be famous in their countries.
In conclusion, no one pretends that space trips are cheap or affordable, but I still believe that space tourism is a source of discovering other planets and exploring new resources. If I were a millionaire, I would certainly have a trip to the space. It's an adventure worth living.

Space Tourism is a waste of money
Space tourism is a very new idea that was once thought of as no more than science fiction, just like visiting the moon once was.
It's true that some people are in favour of this new phenomenon, believing that space trips are adventures worth living and that Space flight participants have the right to use their money the way they see it suitable. Well, I strongly believe that space tourism is totally useless. First, it's a waste of money that should be used to solve some problems on earth that are more pressing like poverty, starvation, diseases and environmental issues. Second, it is useless to spend fortunes on space trips just to admire Planet Earth from outer space or to gain fame as the first space tourist. Third, it is weird to go on space trips while children in Africa are struggling for a loaf of bread or striving for a text book. Just for the sake of pleasure and the excitement of feeling weightless, millionaires are squandering fortunes that may feed villages in poor areas. Fourth, space trips are still dangerous. Many space expeditions have proved failing and space crafts can be hit by meteors.
In conclusion, instead of bridging the gap between the haves and the have-nots, we're providing the well-to-do people with another privilege. Space tourism will be nothing but another means of entertainment for just millionaires.

Tourism is a worldwide popular trend .people love exploring different places by going to destinations which are alien to them. Their are various forms of tourism like ecotourism, cultural tourism, medical tourism ete.. Recently, a new type of tourism was added to list. Namely space tourism. It is just as the name suggest going to space for various purposes like leisure, business ete.. today in this article I will look at the pros and cons of space tourism. One of the main merit of tourism is that it helps to develop economy. As we all know space tourism is a very wide industry hence it will open a path for many job opportunities bringing a solution to the problem of jobless people to a certain extent. Furthermore we will get to discover a wide variety of new things. We can experience firsthand the beauty of comets, asteroids, stars and planets rather than seeing them by using a telescope, after all seeing with our own eyes have a different feel completely. In addition to this ,the future of tourism will flourish.
When advanced technological inventions like space shuttles and such are used a lot of people will be attracted to this industry .This is very much true right? Just imagine if we come across an event which we are not very familiar with then the tendency to learn it also grows. On the other hand, there are a lot of demerits of space tourism as well. Space tourism is quite a risky thing. No matter how developed we are if a catastrophe strikes in outer space we are not very likely to survive .moreover, it can be called simply a useless activity. Just for the mere pleasure of the eye there is no need to spend so much.
It is a squander of money and time Instead, if that same amount is given to the people who are suffering from famine and natural disasters, magnanimously we can make our world a better place for people of different standards. Space tourism is also affordable to a few. Even one trip to space takes over hundred thousand dollars. This results in different problems between the rich and poor .furthermore, it gives rise to a lot of environmental problems like global warming since a lot of non renewable sources are used in this industry. Space tourism is both a boon and ban .if it is carried out carefully then it will bring about lot of benefits and if it is not carries out carefully then get ready to face the worst outcome.
